Turkey Hazelnut

Turkey is the first hazelnut producer and exporter.In addition,it covers approximately 70 percent and 82 percent of the world's production and export respectively.The world hazelnut production shows fluctations depending on the climatic conditions from year to year.Overall,world production has increased in paralel with Turkey's production.While Turkey's average inshell production is 350.000-400.000 tons,this value reached up to 500.000 tons in recent years.

Hazelnut growıng In Düzce provınce

Düzce province has an important place in Turkey's hazelnut production.The Black Sea Cost ,where hazelnuts have been cultivated for thousands of years,are the natural growing area of hazelnuts(Corylus avellana L.).Düzce province ,located in the Western Black Sea Region ,is under the influence of the humid and not to harsh climate seen in coastal parts of the region.The avarage temperature  of the province is 13 •C,the average precipitation is 823,7 kg/m2 and the relationship humadity is 75%.
